RCTI Template: Free Recipient Created Tax Invoice Template
Looking for an RCTI template? Rather than downloading a static template that you need to fill in manually, our free RCTI generator creates a fully compliant Recipient Created Tax Invoice with automatic GST calculation and all ATO-required statements — ready to download as PDF.
What Should an RCTI Template Include?
A compliant RCTI template must have all the elements required by the ATO. Here's the structure:
Header: "Recipient Created Tax Invoice" — clearly labelled
RCTI Number & Date
Recipient (Buyer):
- Business Name
- ABN
- Address
Supplier (Seller):
- Business Name
- ABN
- Address
Line Items: Description, Qty, Unit Price (ex GST), GST, Total (inc GST)
Totals: Subtotal, GST, Grand Total
Compliance Statements:
- "The GST shown is payable by the supplier"
- "The supplier will not issue a tax invoice for this supply"
- 21-day objection period notice
Why Use a Generator Instead of a Static Template?
| Feature | Static Template (Word/Excel) | RCTI Generator |
|---|---|---|
| GST calculation | Manual | Automatic |
| Compliance statements | Must add manually | Pre-filled |
| Invoice numbering | Manual tracking | Auto-incrementing |
| Error risk | High | Low |
| Cost | Free | Free |
The ATO's own template (NAT 73657) is a static PDF that explicitly states it "will not calculate totals for you". Our generator solves this.
Don't Forget the Agreement
An RCTI is only valid if a written agreement is in place between both parties. If you haven't set one up yet, use our Agreement Generator first.
